At Verity Counseling, I’m here to help you handle real-life challenges with Biblically-aligned support, understanding, and helpful tools.

The name “Verity” has a double meaning in my practice. I genuinely want to know the truth of your experience. I also want to use truth rooted in Scripture to encourage and support you. I am not about legalism - all the do’s and don’ts - or about “praying it away.” I combine evidence-based clinical practice with a Christian worldview to best support you.

I provide counseling to adults ages 18 and up. I do individual counseling as well as marriage counseling. I also see dating and engaged couples.

I believe that every person has inherent value and worth, and that every person deserves love, dignity, and companionship. You deserve a Christian therapist who will take the time to know the real you and understand the nuances of your story and your struggles.

Let’s have a no-pressure conversation to see if I’m a good fit for you.

My Approach with Couples and Individuals

Who I work with:

I work with adult individuals and couples to navigate a wide variety of issues. Some of the issues I have experience working with are:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • grief

  • trauma processing

  • attachment injury

  • infidelity

  • conflict management and resolution

  • parenting issues

  • spiritual issues

  • cultural issues

What to expect:

The first session is all about hearing your story and getting oriented to who you are and what issues you are dealing with. From there, we figure out what you want to prioritize and set goals, and then begin a deeper dive into your struggles. Typically, by the third or fourth session, you can expect to start gaining traction and seeing the fruit of your hard work.

In our time together, you can expect a mix of honest reflection, practical tools, and a healthy dose of humor. I promise to show up as the real me - imperfect, honest, and compassionate. My goal is to create a space where you can be you - vulnerable, messy, and totally accepted. I operate with high compassion and empathy and want you to feel known and understood.

Methods:

I tailor my counseling to meet your unique needs. I am Level 2 trained in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. I also often use Internal Family Systems, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and elements of Emotionally-Focused Therapy. I find that a variety of techniques from different methodologies are helpful depending on your needs.

I offer Biblically-based, Christian counseling rooted in compassion and understanding. However, I am not limited to this approach—my primary goal is to support you in the way that feels most comfortable and effective for you.
