Fees

I accept insurance through the following companies for individual counseling:

  • Cigna - until 8/31/26

  • Aetna

  • United Healthcare

*Private pay only is available for Colorado residents.

My cash price for individual counseling is $150 per 50-minute session. Couples counseling is $175 per 50-minute session. I can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company.

Couples counseling:

While insurance companies are steadily improving reimbursement for mental health services, reimbursement remains low for couples counseling. For this reason, I only accept self-pay for couples counseling.

I am in the process of moving away from insurance panels. However, I can accept these insurance panels until my end date.

Insurance companies often place restrictions on care, documentation, session structure, and requires clinicians to justify care using a concept called “medical necessity.”

Insurance-based therapy requires that treatment meet criteria for medical necessity, meaning sessions must focus on reducing symptoms associated with a mental health diagnosis. While this model can increase access to care, it can also limit therapy to a problem-focused, short-term framework. Some clients find that this approach does not fully support deeper relational healing, identity exploration, or preventative care. These are areas that are often central to long-term well-being.

Working outside of insurance allows for more flexibility, privacy, and individualized treatment.
