Relationship and Couples Therapist in Round Rock, Texas

You started out in therapy elsewhere, already exhausted and at your wit’s end, and you received lots of validation and suggestions on what to say or not to say. But nothing changed. You weren’t sure you were getting through about what was really going on, and before long the motivation to keep investing time and money into the process ran out.

That’s not what therapy should be like. Here it’s different.

I’m Lia, a relationship and couples therapist in Round Rock, TX who works with adults who are stuck in unhealthy patterns in their relationships and are ready for things to change for good.

Meet Lia Bermudez, LPC

I’ve been there…

I celebrated 20 years of marriage in 2025, and very little of it has been sunshine and rainbows! In fact, very little has gone according to plan! I’ve had to learn how to break out of unproductive cycles in a relationship to stop trust from eroding and connection from fading.

I’ve done the deep, isolating work of faith deconstruction, the kind that makes you feel like a heretic or unfaithful. The way the world continued to shift and look different with every revelation and conversation felt like drifting further and further away from everything I thought I knew. (Still does!)

I also spent 6 years as a first responder, living with the very real strains of shift work. There was a huge chasm between work life and home life, and letting the two coexist felt like an insurmountable task.

The change in each of these areas was in the decision to do the work, to sit with how I felt, to work through the complex feelings, learn how to be kind to myself and stay connected to those close to me. Now I help my clients do the same - to tackle real-life stressors without losing connection.

  • Maybe you’ve been made to feel like you’re “too much” in your relationships, or “not enough.” Or both.

  • You may have trouble recognizing who or what is safe anymore. Having foundational relationships shift and crack because real life is happening is incredibly painful.

If any of that sounds like you, I’m glad you’re here. I don’t have a magic formula for fixing things, but I have spent 6 years helping people identify the break in connection, see the need underneath, and learn healthier ways of staying engaged, secure, and fulfilled in their relationships.

Who I am…

I am a wife, mom of 2 incredible daughters, book lover, and singer/songwriter. I like to spend my spare time watching British crime dramas with my husband, playing guitar, writing new songs, trying new recipes, and - whether I like it or not - chauffeuring my kids around town. I show up as my real self in the therapy room in hopes that you will feel free to do the same. I don’t try to cover up the quirks of real life - I use them to encourage authenticity.

I have done the work of caring for others and their relationships for as long as I can remember. As an early-twenty-something, coworkers were coming to ask me the “right” way to go about things in their relationship. What did I know?! But they trusted me to hold the details of their story and their beautiful, sacred lives together.

Now it’s my passion and dream come true to share a space with you, in the office or over a screen, and hold the tender details of your life alongside you.
