Compassionate connection and care
Lia Bermudez, LPC
Hello! I am so excited to begin this journey with you!
In every aspect of my life, including work, I strive to adhere to Micah 6:8:
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
This means bringing dignity into every situation, proceeding with gentleness and compassion. My mission is to reflect this in every interaction in the counseling room.
My Background:
I have been in the Austin area since 2010 after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BA in Psychology. I did a 6-year stint as a first responder in Austin, where I gained invaluable experience in caring for people in scary, chaotic, and uncertain situations. I attended Crown College for graduate school while working in EMS and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling in December of 2020. I spent 4.5 years working at the Austin Stone Counseling Center, being cultivated as a Bibically based counselor and learning to adhere to evidence-based methods. Counseling is an immensely fulfilling endeavor that I am passionate and excited about.
I love good food, good humor, and good company. Being from west Texas, I enjoy a good Mexican restaurant more than most (I , like, REALLY love Mexican food). Living in the Austin area, I really enjoy a good cup of coffee. I unwind by watching “Frasier” or reading suspense novels.
I have a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful daughters. In my free time, you might find me enjoying a glass of wine at the Georgetown Square or shopping for a new book to read. I enjoy reading, cooking, watching British crime dramas, learning about theology, and spending time with my husband and kids.
